MarketWell Nutrition Featured in Nutrition Business Journal’s Healthy Aging & Hormones Feature
MarketWell Nutrition CEO Doug Lynch shares insights on hormonal health, GLP-1, longevity and the opportunity for more targeted, evidence-based nutrition solutions.
MarketWell Nutrition is proud to be featured in the August 2026 Hormonal Health Issue of
Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ).
In the article
“Healthspan, meet hormones,” writer Melaina Juntti explores the increasingly important relationship between hormonal health and healthy aging—and how emerging science is creating new opportunities for the nutrition and supplement industry.
MarketWell Nutrition CEO Doug Lynch was among the industry experts invited to share perspectives on where this rapidly evolving category is heading.
Hormonal health goes far beyond reproduction
As understanding of healthy aging evolves, hormones are increasingly being recognized for their role across metabolic health, cognition, body composition, bone health, cardiovascular health and other aspects of healthspan.
Doug highlights insulin as one important part of this picture. While insulin levels may remain relatively stable with age, changes in insulin signaling can increase the risk of insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes.
He also points to the expanding conversation around GLP-1:
“GLP-1 is really not about obesity—it’s about longevity.”
The article notes Doug’s perspective that GLP-1 works directly on 11 of the hallmarks of aging and indirectly on the 12th, senescence.
From “anti-aging” to targeted nutritional support
For the nutrition industry, the opportunity extends beyond creating products positioned broadly around longevity.
Doug emphasizes the importance of connecting nutrition to clearly defined consumer needs:
“The benefits of nutrition are strongest when there is a clear indication as opposed to a [general] anti-aging purpose.”
Rather than relying on broad promises, this approach creates a clearer connection between a specific age-related need, the underlying science and the nutritional intervention designed to support it.
Building the next generation of healthy-aging solutions
The broader message is clear: hormonal health and healthy aging should no longer be viewed as separate categories.
As science continues to reveal the connections among hormones, metabolism, sleep, cognition, body composition and other aspects of aging, the opportunity for evidence-based nutritional innovation will continue to expand.
At MarketWell Nutrition, we help ingredient companies and health and wellness brands identify these emerging intersections—translating science and changing consumer needs into differentiated products, positioning and commercial opportunities.
We’re honored to have Doug and MarketWell Nutrition included in this important industry conversation and thank Melaina Juntti and
Nutrition Business Journal for the opportunity to contribute.
